On August 1, 2017, the United States Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) launched its new electronic reporting system under which certain employers are now required to electronically report injury and illness data. The original proposed compliance data was December 1, 2017. In a November 22, 2017 news release, OSHA announced that the final rule extends the deadline until December 15, 2017. Information regarding OSHA's Injury Tracking Application (ITA) may be found at https://www.osha.gov/injuryreporting/.

Employers operating under OSHA-approved state plans should check with their state regarding reporting requirements. Several states are not required to report through the ITA.
